So I would meet up with my friends

2:52

and we would go to a café and we would have brunch.

2:57

Beth, you said that you used to have brunch at university.

3:03

Used to — what's that mean?

3:05

Well, 'used to' is used to talk about a habit in the past,

3:11

so something you did regularly in the past and don't do now.

3:16

Now, another way of talking about past habits is to use would.

3:22

So if you remember, I said I would message my friends and we would have brunch.

3:29

So 'used to' and 'would' are both used to talk about past habits.

3:35

Do you ever miss a meal?

3:38

No. I think when I was at school, many years ago,

3:42

I used to miss breakfast, because I wanted to stay in bed.

3:48

What about you?

3:50

I don't like to miss meals, because, like I said, I get hangry.

3:56

But I guess I also used to miss breakfast when I was a teenager

4:04

and I needed to sleep for a huge amount of time every night and get up really late.

4:11

Yeah, I think it's quite normal and quite interesting

4:14

how your habits change as you get older.

4:19

For example, missing meals and that sort of thing.
