today we're in recovery mode uh we're

0:02

gonna go to a pub dog friendly Pub maybe

0:05

uh get some bag of chips and what do you

0:07

plan to do after you finish recording uh

0:09

finish making a photo sorry

0:11

I'm gonna go through compliance

0:15

it's quite important just to take time

0:17

out even if it's to just open the window

0:19

and breathe some fresh air or to go

0:21

downstairs have a cup of tea you have to

0:24

take some time or reset and come back

0:26

into the day I settled in South Wales

0:29

so very um

0:32

for a woman different to that one and

0:35

how are you liking Brighton so far uh

0:38

it's quite windy

0:40

hiya welcome to easy English so I'm down

0:44

on the Undercliff during the Easter

0:45

break and I want to find out what are

0:48

people doing today before we start this

0:50

week's episode if you're a fan of easy

0:52

English and you want to help support us

0:53

then why don't you quickly subscribe and

0:55

like the video below here we go uh we've

0:58

just had all the family for for Easter

1:01

we've had five grandchildren and family

1:04

but today we're in recovery mode

1:07

today

1:09

um it's my working day but I've just

1:11

taken an hour off to walk in my neighbor

1:13

to get the fresh air and to enjoy the

1:15

sunshine what are you doing today we are

1:18

trying to catch a bit of fresh air and

1:20

give the dogs a uh a stretch of their

1:23

legs before the year before the weather

1:24

turns this afternoon hopefully

1:29

I hope eat some thika we're from Sweden

1:32

so we want to like go to a cafe and eat

1:35

some sweet stuff or something like that

1:38

and just look at the city just walk

1:40

along seafront maybe uh get some bag of

1:43

chips you know that sort of thing today

1:45

we are

1:47

um

1:48

Brighton how you doing today so we're

1:51

walking from Peacehaven to Brighton with

1:53

the dog we've got a few days off in

1:55

between work shifts I thought we'd come

1:57

down to Sussex and see the seaside what

2:00

is it that uh you two are doing today so

2:03

we're doing a photo shoot for her dance

2:05

product we had Easter eggs from our

2:08

grandchildren so we are going to eat

2:10

those as well

2:13

you're having like a big hangover day of

2:16

like uh like a conversational hangover

2:18

day oh something like that yeah do you

2:20

do this most days I do because I've been

2:23

working for myself now for about seven

2:25

years and the main reason I did that was

2:27

to have the flexibility of a relaxed

2:30

lifestyle where I can balance my mental

2:32

health with my working days trying to

2:34

get a work-life balance achievement and

2:37

who's we is it your friends or family so

2:39

there is we're a family of four there's

2:41

me my wife my two children and our two

2:44

dogs okay so you've just heard saying

2:48

hello to another dog you're from Sweden

2:50

and you're in England looking for

2:52

Swedish food not really Swedish food but

2:55

thing can be

2:56

can be as long as there's something

2:57

sweet

2:59

IE and then a pastry is just what you

3:02

need and it's just something we do like

3:05

almost every day like go in the

3:07

afternoon it's like afternoon tea I

3:09

would say but like we just call it the

3:11

Gap okay and what do you do after the

3:13

chips

3:14

well just go home and then get dinner

3:15

ready

3:17

from one meal to the next well that's it

3:19

really sort of you know that's life and

3:21

what do you have planned for later

3:23

tonight

3:25

um we don't have any plans yet no not

3:28

really it's going to rain so we just

3:31

wanted to enjoy the sun while it lasted

3:33

but we don't have any plans we'll just

3:34

see what made the most of the hundreds

3:37

of pubs probably at night time if it

3:39

rains it's gonna rain later what's the

3:41

plan for tonight uh we're gonna go to a

3:43

pub dog friendly Pub watch the Champions

3:45

League Chelsea Real Madrid and sit there

3:47

with a drink in the dog and uh just just

3:49

sit in the pub nice and um how did you

3:53

come about to get connected to do this

3:55

together I mean we've grown up with each

3:57

other so it was kind of easy to decide

4:01

really and you're on your way to doing

4:03

it or you've already done it done a few

4:04

things

4:06

cool what kind of dance stuff do you do

4:08

I do

4:09

I do things and but today we're doing

4:10

5:00

5:02

today that's right uh retired quiet Life

5:05

starts again today

5:07

but we feel shouted so it's all my own

5:11

experience of burnout and stress and

5:13

working with class with burnout and

5:14

stress I've come to recognize that

5:16

timeout is quite important to reset to

5:18

start to work again okay this is your

5:21

self-prescribed yes yeah it's quite

5:24

important just to take time out even if

5:26

it's to just open the window and breathe

5:28

some fresh air or to go downstairs have

5:30

a cup of tea you have to take some time

5:32

or reset and come back into the day

5:35

we've come down from South Wales

5:38

um so we've just we've popped down for

5:39

for a few days for a change of scenery

5:42

and hopefully some better weather

5:49

yeah yeah and uh then a random side

5:53

question uh are you Welsh

5:55

I'm not no I'm from no so I grew up in

5:59

Sheffield

6:00

I left Sheffield to go to university at

6:03

18.

6:04

um and I haven't really returned but I

6:07

settled in South Wales for a um

6:12

for a woman who different to that one

6:14

but it's halfway as I stayed and then uh

6:17

what did you say you do later on after

6:18

your fika what do you call it yeah and

6:21

what'd you do after your feet curve uh I

6:23

think we're going to take the bus home

6:25

because it's supposed to rain and then

6:28

maybe go to the cinema or something like

6:31

that because doing something indoors

6:33

yeah it's a good idea yeah and what do

6:35

you plan to do after you finish

6:36

recording uh finish making photos sorry

6:39

I will edit them I'm gonna go to a

6:41

compliance

6:45

episode let

6:47

us blow what you've been getting up to

6:48

on the Easter break and as always we'll

6:50

see you next week
